DIY detox

Are you ready to renew your energy from the comfort of your own home?

STEP 1: DRY BRUSH

Start with a rough rub-down with a dry brush (here’s ours!). It might look intense but it’s quite soft and feels like you’re exfoliating your body (because you are). Do dry brushing vigorously enough and you'll start to stimulate lymphatic drainage. Some tips:
— Dry brushing is best done before showering.
— Make sure your skin is completely dry.
— Apply slightly firm pressure.
— Start at your ankle and move in long circular motions.
— Move in the direction towards your heart.
Watch one of our favorites, Melissa Wood demonstrate.

STEP 2: TONE

Here’s something a little different to try. Try toning your body before you take a bath. Massage our Therapeutic Body Oil everywhere you dry-brushed — this way you’re getting deeper into the lymphatic drainage section of this process, plus encouraging that physical exfoliation with some more serious anti-inflammatories (the anti-inflammatory Calendula that enriches Pursoma's 'Pursoleil' body oil comes from Marigold flowers grown in founder Shannon Vaughn's garden. Designed to mimic the glow of sun-kissed skin, this nourishing formula is blended with Rice Bran, Jojoba and Apricot oils. Lavender, Blood Orange and Ylang Ylang give it a soothing, almost therapeutic scent…) You're going to glow after this.

STEP 3: BATHE

This part is crucial! Make it hot. Almost too hot. And then dump one of our salt soaks in — let’s say Resurrection — made from pure, raw, vegan ingredients this revitalizing and deeply stimulating bath helps to unburden the body from toxins such as environmental irritants, overindulgence, and technological pollution.

STEP 4: SOAK

Let it sink in and do it’s work for 20-30 minutes. Don't forget to put your phone on airplane mode and really make this "me-time." We recommend drinking 16 - 32oz of water or herbal tea as the clay & salt draw toxins from your body.

STEP 5: SWEAT + REST

Under a blanket or robe as your body continues to detoxify through perspiration. We recommend going to straight to sleep if done in the evening. If you do your detox in the morning, after 30 minutes of rest hop in the shower and start your day completely refreshed.
