As we move into what some people are calling “Junior Year” of the coronavirus pandemic, as with any illness that we are all likely to contract, there has proven to be an overwhelming amount of information about what steps to take if we become unwell. I think one of the most productive questions to ask yourself is: what am I doing to keep my immunity strong?

As we transition from summer to fall with changing leaves and pumpkin spice flavor becoming ubiquitous, our sweaters come out and so do the tissues and the sneezes. To help you prepare for year two of what I like to call the “is it a cold or is it Covid? freak out”, we’ve curated a list of natural products to help boost immunity and calm a cold. Relationships are hard. H. A. R. D. They are, even when things are butterflies and rainbows and chocolate chip cookies. Add in a global pandemic and things can get, well, sticky, icky, icky. The pandemic has magnified the degree in which we rely on our partners and spend time with our partners because our boundaries, routines, rituals and literal 

 have been taken away from us. And with that, many people find themselves connecting to their phone, their work, and their “to-dos” more than to “their person”. To examine this, we’ve asked a few people (some in relationships and some not — we see you singles!) two important questions and here’s what they have been willing to share. A friend recently shared with me her New Year’s resolution: 20 minutes of exercise every day. I just love a goal that’s doable, simple, and leaves room for more. It’s a brilliant idea whose time has come. As we near the one-year anniversary of the Covid-19 lockdown, the scale tells the tale of how so many of us have been unconsciously coping with the changes to life as we know it.

If no one has beaten me to the punch, allow me to be the first to coin the phrase “Covid Parenting Syndrome” (CPS). It’s an honest-to-goodness psychological phenomenon that, I believe, the clinical world will be treating for generations. Since homeschooling launched in March, I’ve been informally gathering data from parents (male and female alike) and found that CPS is characterized by, but by no means limited to, high anxiety, discharge of anger, impatience, guilt, shame, grief, isolation, despondency, marital strife, weight gain, and alcohol abuse. Did I mention weight gain? And in many cases CPS has been triggered by homeschooling.

There’s no better way to set yourself up for an amazing day than by committing to a morning routine. An empowering morning routine can help you focus your mind, get grounded, shake off sleepiness, and boost your mood. Further, a great morning regimen can provide a sense of stability during uncertain times. A little structure can feel so reassuring. Setting the tone for your day via some targeted

A winter wellness routine is your best defense against cabin fever this season. While winter may seem cozy at first, day after day spent indoors can get old fast. An easy-to-follow winter wellness routine is an essential indoor activity to spice up your self-care ritual.

Self-care isn’t selfish. A regular self-care practice that boosts your well-being means you have more to give where it matters most. No matter how jammed your daily to-do list is, shoring up your health is a must. Current times show that now more than ever, taking care of your health is essential. In whatever ways you can manage, make sure to make time for you each day and nurture your body and mind.

It’s understandable if you’re feeling complicated about summer this year. If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, summer is usually a time of relief from long, cold winters. Globally, COVID-19 lockdowns mean that life as we knew it is interrupted and forever changed. Warm weather get-togethers with family and friends, beach trips, and much-needed vacations are not a given this year. No matter what your plans are as lockdowns slowly begin to lift in the United States, you might feel overwhelmed with feelings of restlessness, loss, frustration, and uncertainty.

A regular self-care routine can help you feel good, especially when you're under the weather. The winter season has its pros (cozy nights beside a flickering fire) and its cons (time spent feeling run down from cold and flu) but that doesn’t mean you can’t have more good days than bad.

, I have to admit that I would have welcomed the idea of social distancing with open arms. I live in NYC so the one thing I was getting plenty of is people. Typically, when I had the opportunity to get our of the city, I would choose places that have two things -- access to nature and very few people.
